APhoRISM at SPIE Remote Sensing, 2014

One of the tasks of the FP7 APhoRISM project, which consists in detecting sparse earthquake damages in high density urban settlements by VHR SAR data, has been presented in SPIE Remote Sensing 2014 that was held in Amsterdam (The Netherlands) the 22- 25 September, 2014.

You can find the presentation here.

13-18/07/2014: IGARSS 2014

Aphorism at the International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2014

The first outcomes of SAR data exploitation for damage mapping have been presented at the International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), which has been held in Quebec city, Quebec, Canada. The symposium lasted from July 13 to July 18, 2014. The work, accepted as a poster presentation, give some information about the APhoRISM project and the APE method that will be implemented in. The poster is focused on the analysis of Very High Resolution (VHR) SAR images, showing the first results about the SAR features that can be used for damage mapping of single buildings.

You can find the poster here.

13-18/07/2014: IGARSS 2014

Aphorism at the International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2014

The VPR technique for ash cloud detection and retrieval, a possible candidate to generate input products for the APhoRISM-MACE method, has been presented at the International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), which has been held in Quebec city, Quebec, Canada. The symposium lasted from July 13 to July 18, 2014. The work, accepted as a poster presentation, outlines the main ideas underlying the VPR approach and the preliminary results of its application to MSG-SEVIRI data.
